Police believe two of the incidents are related

Saskatchewan RCMP have responded to multiple calls related to thieves removing items from farm tractors.

On May 20, members of the Rosetown RCMP received a report of a theft of batteries from a tractor.

It’s unclear what brand of tractor the thieves stole the batteries from.

Two days before that, on May 18, officers from the Unity, Macklin and Wilkie RCMP responded to two calls from farms near Highway #14 in the rural municipality of Buffalo.

Two tractors, belonging to two different farmers, had been broken into.

Autosteer and GPS mechanisms were taken from the tractors, and police believe the incidents may be related.

RCMP provided a photo of the stolen items.

The Autosteer mechanism is a John Deere StarFire 3000.

A 7” standalone monitor was also taken from one of the tractors.

Anyone with information about the May 20 incident in Rosetown are asked to call the detachment at 306-882-5700.

People with information about the May 18 thefts are asked to contact Unity RCMP at 306-228-6300, Wilkie RCMP at 306-843-3480 or Mackin RCMP at 306-753-2171.
