Ackley is also the event’s host.
The panel discussions will also include guest speakers.
Craig Klemmer, principal agriculture economist with Farm Credit Canada, Kevin Tink a Ritchie Bros. auctioneer and senior advisor, Jordan Clarke, a sales director with Ritchie Bros. and John Schmeiser, CEO of the Western Equipment Dealers Association, are all scheduled to speak during the event.
Schmesier’s presentation will include an overall picture of the farm equipment industry and some of the pressing issues it’s facing.
“I’ll be addressing the state of the industry and where business is at,” he told Farms.com. “More specifically I’ll be talking about sales numbers and how they compare to last year at this time and the industry challenges we have which is pretty much inventory supply and why there’s equipment shortages.
Schmeiser will also discuss equipment modification and the affects those changes can have on equipment value.
“We’ve launched a public relations campaign basically telling the industry modifying equipment like chipping, tuning and DEF modifications is not only illegal in some cases ant not the best approach to take because of the diminishing value,” he said.
Also, on May 10, Richie Bros. will be hosting an industry panel discussion for members of the construction sector.
That presentation goes from 9 to 10 a.m. PST (noon to 1 p.m. EST). Guest speakers include Joe Wrobel, president of the Canadian Construction Association, Doug Rusch, managing director of sales with Rouse Services, and Ritchie Bros. reps.
