For people involved or who want to be more involved in agriculture, education or a mix of the two, Penton Agriculture has introduced an updated online learning platform.
The online continuing education site makes it easier for people to take in the learning material from the comfort of their own home, on mobile and traditional desktop computers.
"Our first online continuing education course was launched in 2004. Today, we are proud to say that more than 80,000 courses have been passed," said Greg Frey, VP, Market Leader, Penton Agriculture. "We understand that learning is a critical component to the farming community; our education is based on our years of industry expertise. We're very excited to bring a more interactive eLearning offering experience to the agriculture industry. Our new platform will allow us to expand our course offerings as well as the regions we serve."
Penton Agriculture offers nearly 20 courses including:
- Alfalfa Pest Management/Selecting Right Variety
- California Groundwater Protection Regulations
- Current Status of Herbicide Resistance in Weeds (English and Spanish)
- Managing Spray Drift to Minimize Problems
- Organic/Sustainable Agriculture Production
The courses are designed to meet state and national requirements for continuing education and are accredited by the American Society of Agronomy Certified Crop Adviser Program.
The online learning uses videos, quizzes, photos and other graphics to enhance the students’ potential to retain the information.
