Farm Management Canada (FMC) is accepting nominations for the Wilson Loree award.
The honour recognizes “those that have made an extraordinary contribution to developing and promoting new and positive change in agricultural business management practices and expertise in Canada.”
Past winners include Michele Rogalsky (2022), Colleen Younie (2021) and Darrell Wade (2017).
Wilson Loree received the first award in 2002.
FMC encourages the nominations of individuals or groups who:
- have made significant contributions in the area of farm business management regionally or nationally;
- have demonstrated innovation in areas such as turning research into practical management tools, adapting best practices from other sectors to agriculture, and finding new ways to deliver training, information and resources to farm managers;
- have served as a role model and a mentor to colleagues, partners and clients, inspiring them to achieve their full potential; and
- have demonstrated the ability to network and develop partnerships to include others in furthering the shared goals and vision of the agriculture industry.
Nominators must be a member of FMC and must fill out a form on behalf of the nominee.
The form must include the nominee’s contact information, 500 or fewer words outlining why the nominee should be considered for the award, and at least two reference letters.
This information must be submitted before Oct. 6, 2023.
The award winner will be revealed at the Agricultural Excellence Conference, which happens Nov. 21 to 23 in Guelph, Ont.
