A stronger smarter and more capable Tacoma enters the new model year

The 2026 Toyota Tacoma enters the new model year with a strong focus on capability, comfort, and modern technology. Known as a popular midsize pickup for many years, and popular with farmers, the new Tacoma brings updated styling, new performance features, and advanced safety systems to meet the needs of different kinds of drivers.

Tacoma continues to offer two strong engines. The i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain provides 326 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque with an estimated 23 MPG combined. The standard i-FORCE 2.4L turbo engine produces up to 278 horsepower and offers an estimated 26 MPG on the highway. Drivers may also choose an intelligent six-speed manual transmission on select models.

For off-road driving, the TRD Pro and Trailhunter grades deliver improved strength and control. Features include forged monotube shocks, 33-inch tires, advanced air intake systems, underbody protection, and special LED lighting.

Select models use the Stabilizer Disconnect Mechanism to increase suspension movement on rough ground. Multi-Terrain Select, CRAWL Control, and a locking rear differential help drivers travel safely on challenging surfaces.

Tacoma also supports towing needs with a maximum capacity of 6,500 pounds and a payload of up to 1,705 pounds. Helpful tools include a trailer brake controller, digital rearview mirror, and a backup guide with alignment assistance.

The lineup introduces new colors, including Heritage Blue and the exclusive Wave Maker shade available on the TRD Pro. A black front logo now appears on several TRD trims, and the SR XtraCab model adds a standard tow hitch, increasing overall utility.

Inside, Tacoma offers two cab styles and multiple trims ranging from SR to TRD Pro. Higher trims include heated and ventilated seats, wood-style accents, a 14-inch touchscreen, JBL audio, and power running boards. The i-FORCE MAX models also come with a 2400W power supply in the cabin and bed.

Technology updates include wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a wireless charger, a digital gauge cluster, and smart key access. Safety is strengthened with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, featuring lane support, cruise control, road sign alerts, proactive driving assist, and automatic high beams.
