Canada’s new federal ag minister is embarking on her first cross-country tour to visit with members of Western Canada’s ag industry.

Marie-Claude Bibeau, who took over the ag portfolio after a federal cabinet shuffle one week ago, will kick off her first agriculture tour Monday with stops in Vernon and Kelowna, B.C.

Bibeau’s visit in Vernon will include an announcement in support of B.C. farmers managing farm income challenges. The stop in Kelowna will be to announce assistance for the province’s tree fruit industry and to meet with business representatives, a federal press release says.

Minister Bibeau looks forward to the opportunity to engage with farmers and processors from Western Canada.

“I am thrilled to be kicking off my first agricultural tour in Western Canada in my new role as federal minister of agriculture and agri-food,” she said in a statement Friday. “This will be an opportunity for me to meet with our world-class farmers and processors, as well as their representatives on the ground. The future of the agriculture sector is full of new possibilities and our Government is committed to contribute to its growth.”

From B.C., Minister Bibeau will travel east to Calgary, Alta. to meet with business leaders.

She’ll appear at the Calgary Chamber of Commerce to speak about agriculture as an economic engine for Western Canada.

Her final stop on the agriculture tour will take place in Winnipeg, Man. on Wednesday.

Just another Trudeau puppet who cant think for herself or the position ! Agriculture is huge here . Saskatchewan grows more crops than the rest of the provinces , plus has a big beef herd and many other diversified farming enterprises . She can’t stop here cause Trudeau’s vision isn’t to help here ! Sad indeed .
