Man charged with stealing over $1.2 million in farm machinery

Five John Deere tractors among equipment recovered

A 38-year-old man is facing 29 charges after city police and the RCMP seized over $1.2 million in farm equipment on Thursday.

Police say they recovered five John Deere farm tractors, two Deere balers, two Deere Gators, two Dodge Ram pickup trucks, one cattle hauler, one car hauler, a Haybuster, one mower and a tiller.

Law enforcement found the farm machinery after searching a rural property near Montrose, Saskatchewan. They identified items taken from farmers and ag equipment dealers in Saskatoon, as well as the Biggar, Outlook and Rosetown areas.

Iain Stables will make his first court appearance on April 14 in Saskatoon provincial court.
