Live Cattle Commodity Update for the Week Ending Aug 23, 2024

The week of Aug 19, 2024 saw the price of live cattle end at 175.7. Compared to last week’s ending price of 178.3 the price of live cattle dropped by 1.5%.

The lowest price point for live cattle during the week occurred on Aug 21, 2024 when the price was at 174.625.

In the span of a month, the price of live cattle dropped by 5.6%. At this time last month, live cattle was at 186.125 and have since dropped to 175.7.

Live cattle has also seen price drops since last year. Around this time in 2023, live cattle prices were at 185.025. The change in prices from last year equal a decrease of 5%.

On Dec 07, 2023, live cattle had its worst day as far as markets go when it was at 169.05.
