Plowmen from across Ontario gathered in Stratford over the weekend for the annual Ontario Plowmen’s Association (OPA) convention. One of the big items on the agenda was the bid to host the 2017 International Plowing Match (IPM). Huron County was chosen as the host county for the 2017 match - a significant year, as it marks 150 year’s of Canada’s Confederation. The last time Huron County hosted the IPM was in 1999. Perth County is set to host this year’s IPM, which will mark the 100th anniversary of the first plowing match. More information can be found at IPM 2013 website.
