The horse racing industry has come together to show its support for harness racer, Anthony Coletta who was severely injured during a race in Chester, Pennsylvania on Sunday.

It happened at Harrah’s Philadelphia racetrack in Chester. Anthony Coletta was thrown into the air after a collision involving four horses and their drivers. Coletta hit the ground and was trampled by another horse. Spectators say a horse had taken a bad step and fell, while Coletta was behind. It was an unavoidable collision.

It didn’t take long to see the outpouring of support for Coletta and his family on social media. Several images have been shared. One image says “Strength and Hope for Anthony Coletta.”

Coletta remains in critical condition at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He underwent brain surgery and had multiple fractures. While he is breathing on his own, there is a long recovery ahead. Many people donated their earnings from last weekend’s race to the family. There is also a fundraiser being planned.
