During the inauguration event industry stakeholders were given the opportunity to tour the facility and observe how modern breeding technologies are applied in daily operations. This hands-on experience helped demonstrate how science-based practices can be effectively used to improve herd health productivity and sustainability.
The farm has already received its first group of 1,000 high health sows which will form the foundation for future genetic improvement. By combining global genetic expertise with a locally adapted operational model the partnership aims to create strong value for Chinese producers and support stable pork supply.
“The establishment of the Hendrix Huanshan Nucleus Farm is the result of determined collaboration with Huanshan group. Together, we are creating local value for Chinese producers by uniting global genetic expertise with an operational model designed for China’s realities.” said Chen Ji, Managing Director Hendrix Genetics China. “The farm has already received its first shipment of 1,000 high-health sows, laying the foundation for robust local production and genetic progress.”
The launch of the Hendrix Huanshan Nucleus Farm also reflects a broader commitment to sustainability. The facility focuses on efficient resource use improved animal health and environmentally responsible production practices. These efforts support the goal of building a healthier and more resilient swine industry in China.
This project is one of several key achievements following the merger of Hendrix Genetics and Danish Genetics to form Hendrix Genetics Swine. The introduction of new unified breeding solutions further highlights the strong technical integration and shared breeding philosophy driving the organization forward.
Overall, the new nucleus farm marks a major milestone in advancing genetic excellence innovation and long-term collaboration within China’s swine sector.
