The grant program, which opened for applications from June 14 to August 31, 2024, encouraged communities to submit proposals ranging from $10,000 to $100,000 for capital projects that enrich recreational, educational, and cultural facilities within agricultural communities.
The response to UFA's first Rural Communities Grant Program was overwhelming according to the group. UFA received numerous applications showcasing the dedication and creativity of rural communities.
Each project selected reflects UFA's commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those living and working in these areas. This grant program builds upon the legacy of the former UFA Rural Communities Foundation, which successfully funded twenty community projects in Alberta.
The UFA Agricultural Community Foundation is dedicated to evolving and providing impactful opportunities that support rural development. The UFA Agricultural Community Foundation looks forward to future funding opportunities and continuing to support rural initiatives that foster growth and connectivity in Alberta and Saskatchewan.
