Klement Sausage Company Inc. Recalls 2,920 Pounds of Product

 The U.S Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced on September 4 2012, a food recall pertaining to Frozen Bratwurst Patties produced by Klement Sausage Company Inc. The company is voluntarily recalling 2,920 pounds of their frozen bratwurst patties due to potential contamination of foreign materials, in particular, pieces of a plastic pen. The company has recalled the product as a cautionary measure after they were alerted about the foreign materials by distributors who were told by food preparation personnel about the contamination.

The subject of the recall includes 10-lb cases containing 4_oz patties of KLEMENT SAUSAGE CO. BRATWURST PATTY. All products were produced on July 6 2012 and bear the establishment number “EST. 2426B” in the USDA mark of inspection and the batch number “21097” on the case label.  

There have been no reported cases of injury or illness associated with the recall.
