The event took place on July 29 to celebrate 100 years of Farmall tractors. It included machines from the 1920s and 1930s to modern-day models.
Each tractor travelled around the 3.2 km (1.9 mi) track as Guinness representatives attended to validate the record.
“It was really exciting to be out there with so many other Farmall enthusiasts, and while we were hoping we could succeed in setting the record, you can never be sure, particularly when you’re dealing with so many vintage machines,” Tom Horwood, a local business owner, told Grain Central, an Australian publication.
Here are some other Guinness records set using tractors:
- In July 2010, 1,231 tractors in Dresden, Ont., Canada, set the record for largest tractor parade and benefitted the Canadian Cancer Society in the process.
- In September 2014, 115 Zetor tractors participated in a parade in Lithuania to set the record for largest parade of Zetor tractors.
- In October 2016, Hubert Berger from Germany travelled 25,378.4 km (15,769.38 mi) through 36 countries on his 1970 Eicher Tiger II tractor. This set the record for the longest journey by tractor.
