xarvio™ SCOUTING application (app) users can now connect with accredited agronomic advisors in real-time, remotely, and face-to-face through AGvisorPRO’s connectivity platform.

BASF Digital Farming, parent company of xarvio™, signed the agreement with AGvisorPRO to help its SCOUTING app users assess in-field problems and enhance their agronomic decisions.

Users can instantaneously share in-field pictures of diseases, insects, or unknown weeds, with an agronomic advisor to learn about potential solutions.

How does it work?

After receiving a response and recommendations from xarvio™ SCOUTING, farmers can connect with AGvisorPRO’s network of ag experts by clicking the AGvisorPRO logo embedded within the app.

AGvisorPRO will then provide a connection to a fee-based expert of your choosing via audio, video, picture, or instant messaging.

“The connection between our automatized in-field problem identifier, xarvio™ SCOUTING, and the AGvisorPRO connectivity platform will provide another way to assist farmers with identifying problems in their field,” said Brent Nicol, commercial lead for xarvio™ at BASF Digital Farming

“This collaboration builds on BASF’s responsive customer support team and local retailer network, which helps SCOUTING users receive top tier agronomic advice as quickly as possible, helping to enhance agronomic decisions that can optimize crop production while fostering sustainability. AGvisorPRO represents our first collaboration in this area,” he added.

From agronomy and crop protection to animal health and mechanical support for ag equipment, AGvisorPRO’s network provides users with a fast and simple way to connect with ag experts in real-time.

This collaboration pairs the capabilities of two market leading digital farming apps, both of which were AIM Innovation Program awards winners in 2019 and 2020 respectively.

“This collaboration demonstrates how AGvisorPRO is working to bring experts into the field without having to be on the farm. AGvisorPRO is not a consulting firm; we are a connectivity channel. Independent, industry and government experts who have registered themselves with AGvisorPRO will be available through this application,” explained Robert Saik, CEO of AGvisorPRO.

“It is my belief that the key to greater profitability, increased sustainability and enhanced food security comes from farmers having access to the right information from the right expert at the right time. With SCOUTING and AGvisorPRO our goal is to make agriculture better.”

Farms.com had the pleasure of hosting xarvio and AGvisorPRO at the 2020 Virtual Precision Agriculture Conference & Ag Technology Showcase in November.
