USDA appoints McCain as State Executive Director for Louisiana FSA
In a recent appointment, Craig McCain has been named the State Executive Director (SED) of the USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA) in Louisiana. He rejoined the agency on May 5, 2025, bringing with him decades of service and local knowledge.
McCain previously served in this same role during the Government’s earlier term. His return promises stability and dedication in leading Louisiana’s FSA operations. As SED, McCain will oversee essential programs for farmers and ranchers, including credit assistance, commodity programs, conservation projects, and disaster relief.
McCain’s agricultural roots trace back to his family farm in Franklin Parish, where they raised cattle and grew cotton. He began his FSA career in 1986 and worked in multiple roles, including county executive director and district director. His long-standing involvement with local agriculture gives him a strong understanding of producer needs.
“When America’s farming communities prosper, the entire nation thrives,” said Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins. “This new group of USDA appointees will ensure President Trump’s America First agenda is a reality in rural areas across the country.”
