The Dieleman family’s 2017 corn maze in Thamesville, Ontario will feature many symbols that represent Canada, thanks to help from the team at Kucera Farm Supply, who planted the field using precision ag equipment.
“We’ve been thinking of doing something over the past few years,” said Stephanie Campbell today at Kucera in Alvinston.
Campbell explained that a PDF version of the map was sent to Karon Cowan at AgTech GIS, who then put it into a software application. Pathways were planted at a population of zero, while the rest of the field was set at 26,600 plants per acre.
Now the Dieleman’s won’t have to manually remove plants.
The map was revealed last weekend at the Thamesville Threshing Festival.
