Canada Celebrates Historic Pork Trade Milestone in Japan-- Four Decades of Partnership and Progress Celebrated
This week, Canada’s pork industry is proudly leading a trade mission to Japan, celebrating a landmark achievement: Canadian pork is now the top imported pork in Japan for the first time in more than four decades.
The mission, with stops in Osaka and Tokyo, underscores the deep-rooted relationship between the two nations. Nineteen delegates representing producers, processors, and industry leaders are participating in the mission, which aims to honor Japanese partners and further strengthen bilateral ties.
The journey begins in Osaka at Expo 2025, where the Canadian Pork Council (CPC) and Canada Pork (CP) will host a special event at the Canadian Pavilion. Attendees will experience a cutting demo, sample premium Canadian pork, and hear presentations from CPC and CP representatives highlighting Canada’s high production standards and dedication to excellence.
