Oh my gourd! The 50th Half Moon Bay Art & Pumpkin Festival is back after a brief hiatus (Covid) resuming its place as one of the largest pumpkin festivals in the US.

Taking place October 15-16, 2022, in Half Moon Bay, California, the festival will feature a classic pumpkin weigh-off as superstar growers compete for a top prize of $9/Pound and a $30k world record bonus prize.

Known as the World Pumpkin Capital, Half Moon Bay offers a stunning seaside farm country dotted with vast, rolling fields of orange, scarecrows, barns, and pick-your-own pumpkin patches.

Not just restricted to a fairground, the Half Moon Bay Art & Pumpkin Festival is situated on the town’s historic Main Street.

Free admission gets you a view of the giant pumpkins challenging one another for a title, sculpting and carving of the orange gourds by talented artists, a Sunday-only feature of live music and fine art on display, festival appropriate drinks (including craft beers and cocktails, and premium Cali wines), and foods—we’re pretty sure there’s going to be pumpkin pie available—parades, bungee jumping, waterballerz, lounge areas, etcetera.

Events and contests for all members of the family regardless of age are available. Along with the opportunity to meet Gourdy (not Gord), the official mascot, visitors can also wander over to view and pick their own pumpkin to take home. And much, much more.
