An Alberta ag group is looking for farmers to become delegates.

Alberta Beef Producers (ABP) has two-year positions available in all five delegate zones, and one-year positions available in the Central, Northwest and Southeast Zones.

Delegates are responsible for representing the producers in their zones and communicating with other producers and delegates.

Eligible producers must be at least 18-years-old and have paid check-off in the last two years.

Becoming a delegate “is one of many ways you can become more involved in Alberta’s beef industry,” an organization blog post says. “We need strong members in our delegate body to provide leadership and connect with producers.”

To become a delegate, an interested farmer will need to submit a nomination form.

The form must include the delegate’s contact information and who nominated the farmer to be a delegate. In addition, the nominee must submit a brief resume, between 75 and 100 words, which will go into ABP Magazine.

Nomination forms must be completed by 11:59 p.m. on Nov. 15.
