Dairy Farmers of Ontario Employee Dies, Age 58

 Eric McLeod died Monday unexpectedly while on the job as Regional Field Services Manager with the Dairy Farmers of Ontario (DFO). McLeod, 58, had been a rep for DFO for 35 years based out of Perth County. DFO released a statement on their website extending their condolences to the family, calling it a tragic loss.

McLeod was well-respected in the community and was an active volunteer. He coached and served many roles on Rotary, Stratford minor baseball and hockey for close to 25 years.  In 2004, he was nominated for Stratford Sportsperson of the year. In addition to his passion for baseball and hockey, McLeod also coached girls’ softball house league and house league soccer over the years.

McLeod is survived by his wife Linda and two children, daughter Carly and son Brett.

Visitation will take place Thursday, April 25th from 6 to 9p.m. at W.G. Young Funeral home in Stratford.  The funeral service will take place on Friday at 11a.m. at Central United Church in Stratford.
