Horses in Hotels

Every year since 1948, someone has brought a horse to the Grey Cup’s host city and a hotel lets the animal walk through the lobby. That year, football fans from Calgary transported about 12 horses on the railway and entered the Royal York Hotel in Toronto, Ont. on horseback.

Each horse walking through the hotel also receives the temporary name of Tuffy, after the Calgary Stampeders’ mascot.
