The training costs $40 per participant, covering all educational materials, lunch, and snacks during in-person sessions. Payments can be made online or by mailed check. While the program targets teens, children under 14 can attend the first day of training free of charge if accompanied by an adult.
Registration is required at least one week before the desired dates, through an online portal. The program, supported by the Nebraska Extension and the Central States Center for Agricultural Safety and Health at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, College of Public Health, includes the following schedule:
May 21: Certification Day 1 — 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
May 22: Certification Day 2 — 8 a.m.-3 p.m.
May 28: Certification Day 1 — 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
May 29: Certification Day 2 — 8 a.m.-3 p.m.
May 30: Certification Day 1 — 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
May 31: Certification Day 2 — 8 a.m.-3 p.m.
June 4: Certification Day 2 — 8 a.m.-3 p.m.
Additional dates and locations include Gordon, O'Neill, Grand Island, and Hastings, each providing structured training sessions conducive to learning and compliance with safety standards.
Participants attending Certification Day 2 locations must complete Certification Day 1 at an alternative venue or online module, including passing a written exam, before proceeding to Certification Day 2.
