Texas Longhorn cattle are descended from the first cattle brought to the U.S. and can be easily identified by their large horns. At one point, these cattle were almost extinct in the country but the government saved the breed in 1927. Texas Longhorns produce lean meat and their horns can be anywhere from four to nine feet in length.
