The image on this billboard off the I-70 in Colby, Kan., shows Jesus Christ in a field of wheat.
Tuffy and Linda Kay Taylor, a local couple, came up with the idea to erect the billboard in 2009 after being influenced by similar ones in other parts of the country. The pair commissioned a local artist to produce the image and the community helped with the billboard’s cost.
The Taylors still pay the lighting bill for sign, which costs about US$200 per month.
