London, On – January 2, 2007. ~ Farmers now have direct access to some of the world’s leading experts on farm management thanks to an idea from Kevin Stewart, host of AgVisionTV and the support of the Agriculture Adaptation Council and the Agriculture Management Institute (AMI) program.
“The need for good farm management information is greater than it's ever been! I have been getting a lot of viewer feedback from our TV show and this interaction gave me the idea that we could leverage modern communication technology to connect farmers to the experts I had been interviewing on AgVision TV. That idea was the basis for TopManagers.ca and in discussions with AMI we were able to pull together the resources required to try this new initiative,” says Kevin Stewart, host of AgVision TV.
TopManagers.ca – is a leading edge website which combines a library of television clips, internet and newsletter content devoted entirely to farm management excellence. The TOPMANAGERS.CA Team is a unique blend of some of the world’s best farm management specialists pulled together virtually and is available to answer questions from farmers across Canada. The website has online videos, short articles and quick links that answer questions that real farmers have posed over the last year and been part of the AgVisionTV show. Farmers can also send their specific questions to the experts and they will try to provide answers, which will be posted online for others to see. Some of the good questions will also be used on the AgVision TV Top Managers segments.
Some of world's leading farm management authors, speakers, and experts make their experience available during the weekly AgVisionTV show or anytime online. Al Scholz - Saskatchewan Agrivision Corp., Danny Klinefelter -TEPAP, Texas A&M, Larry Martin - George Morris Centre, Rob Napier- Agrifutures, Victor Aideyan - Farms.com Risk Management Consultant, Wilhelm (Wimpie) Nell - Centre for Agricultural Management, Dick Wittman- Farm Financial Standard Council comprise the team which is bound to grow over time.
