Agricultural Roots Fuel FarmHer’s Career In Technologyga

Oct 25, 2017
Tune in to “FarmHer on RFD-TV” this Friday, Oct. 27, to meet Stephanie Steele, a FarmHer and support specialist at Ag Connections, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Syngenta.

“Stephanie is a great example of the amazing FarmHers we visit,” said Marji Guyler-Alaniz, founder of FarmHer. “This young woman balances the roles of farm wife and mom with her role as an ag professional in order to create a bright future for her family, her farm and herself.”

Steele has always been a part of agriculture. She grew up on her family’s cattle farm in Bandana, Kentucky. She then moved to Murray, Kentucky, where she earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Murray State University. That’s where she met her husband, Wes.

They now live together on his fifth-generation family farm, where they grow corn, soybeans, wheat and dark-fired tobacco. A few years ago, they also started a sweet corn patch, Sutton’s Sweet Corn, named after their daughter. Steele, her husband and two-year-old Sutton pick the sweet corn as a family, then sell it at their local farmer’s market to raise money for Sutton’s college fund.

While Steele maintains various roles on the farm, she has grown an agribusiness career as a support specialist at Ag Connections. She helps farmers who have questions about Land.db®, the farm data-management software exclusive to Syngenta. She also has responsibilities in new employee training, accounting, budgeting, billing and business analytics.
