Dry bean crops in Ontario and Michigan could use some moisture while those in Manitoba and North Dakota/Minnesota would benefit from drier weather, according to the latest crop progress report from Thompsons Ltd. in Blenheim, ON.
However, neither the dryness nor the wetness is a serious problem – at least not yet.
ONTARIO:
Conditions are good although a rain would be welcome to give the plants a shot of moisture and activate the pre-emergent herbicide programs. Ontario temperatures are in the low 20s C (70 F) with chances of Thunder showers on Thursday. A bit of moisture would be welcome at this stage.
