Investments in community infrastructure are essential to strengthen the middle class and provide municipalities with the building blocks they need to support a high standard of living for all Canadians and their families. The governments of Canada and New Brunswick today announced investments of more than $996,000 to the Napan Agricultural Show Inc. to help expand the fairgrounds structure.

Pat Finnigan, Member of Parliament for Miramichi-Grand Lake, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), and the Honourable Bill Fraser, New Brunswick Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure and Minister responsible for the Regional Development Corporation, made the announcement earlier today.

These investments support the construction of a steel covered ring at the Napan Agricultural Show grounds. The new structure will include optional curtains that allow for flexible use. This project will provide adaptable space and the capacity to host larger outdoor events in the rural community of Napan during various weather conditions.

The Government of Canada is providing a contribution of $498,400 through ACOA’s Innovative Communities Fund, while the Province of New Brunswick is investing $498,400 through the Regional Development Corporation.

These investments build on commitments made by the Government of Canada and the four Atlantic provinces to drive economic growth in the region through the Atlantic Growth Strategy, which involves targeted actions to stimulate Atlantic Canada's economy, including supporting key infrastructure projects that support long-term growth and position the region to capitalize on emerging opportunities
