Multiple countries are refusing imports of Canadian ag products.

China has blocked imports of canola over perceived pest issues, and shipments of pork and beef due to discoveries of ractopamine.

Italy has slowed imports of Canadian durum since 2018 after some shipments tested positive for trace amounts of glyphosate. Saudi Arabia stopped buying Canadian wheat and barley in 2018 after Foreign Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland tweeted about human rights concerns.

And Canadian pulses have challenges entering India due to fumigation issues. India requires all pulse shipments be treated with methyl bromide but Canada doesn’t use the chemical because it doesn’t work properly in cold weather. Shipments of Canadian pulses to India were exempt from the fumigation requirements until 2017.
