USDA Export Sales Report

Wheat:  Net sales of 393,400 metric tons for delivery in marketing year 2017/2018 were up 36 percent from the previous week and 67 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were for Mexico (106,400 MT, including decreases of 700 MT), South Korea (79,400 MT, including decreases of 700 MT), Indonesia (74,400 MT), Nigeria (34,000 MT, including 45,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 11,000 MT), and Japan (33,500 MT).  Reductions were reported for unknown destinations (57,400 MT), Peru (20,000 MT), the French West Indies (9,000 MT), Barbados (2,500 MT), and the Leeward and Windward Islands (2,100 MT).  For 2018/2019, net sales of 22,100 MT were for unknown destinations (20,000 MT), Panama (2,000 MT), and Japan (100 MT).  Exports of 467,800 MT were down 9 percent from the previous week, but up 17 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were to Japan (108,100 MT), Indonesia (74,400 MT), Algeria (62,400 MT), Morocco (62,300 MT), and Nigeria (45,000 MT).
 
Exports for Own Account:  New exports for own account totaling 4,300 MT to Italy were applied to new or outstanding sales.
 
 Corn:  Net sales of 1,769,600 MT for 2017/2018 were down 4 percent from the previous week, but up 27 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for unknown destinations (426,600 MT), South Korea (330,200 MT, including 65,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 100 MT), Egypt (225,000 MT), Spain (198,000 MT, including 66,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), Japan (152,900 MT, including 127,700 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 58,600 MT), and Colombia (114,500 MT, including 29,300 MT switched from unknown destinations).  Reductions were reported for the Dominican Republic (22,200 MT) and Guatemala (4,300 MT).  Exports of 961,200 MT were down 8 percent from the previous week, but up 22 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The destinations were primarily to Japan (417,000 MT), Mexico (155,300 MT), South Korea (140,000 MT), Peru (78,300 MT), and Colombia (59,800 MT).
 
Optional Origin Sales:  For 2017/2018, the current optional origin outstanding balance of 724,500 MT is for South Korea (342,000 MT), unknown destinations (261,500 MT), and Vietnam (121,000 MT).
 
Barley:  There were no sales or exports reported during the week.
 
Sorghum:  Net sales of 73,600 MT for 2017/2018 resulted as increases for China (179,700 MT, including 66,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), Mexico (25,700 MT), and Japan (3,200 MT, including 3,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), were partially offset by reductions for unknown destinations (135,000 MT).  Exports of 125,600 MT were down 49 percent from the previous week and 15 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The destinations were China (122,000 MT), Japan (3,200 MT), and Mexico (400 MT). 
 
Rice:  Net sales of 57,200 MT for 2017/2018 were down 8 percent from the previous week, but up 67 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Panama (16,600 MT), Japan (12,400 MT), Honduras (10,800 MT), Guatemala (5,000 MT), and Mexico (4,500 MT).  Exports of 33,100 MT were down 50 percent from the previous week and 53 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Panama (16,600 MT), South Korea (4,800 MT), Japan (2,500 MT), Mexico (2,400 MT), and Canada (1,900 MT). 
 
Exports for Own Account:  The current outstanding balance of 100 MT is for Canada.
 
Soybeans:  Net sales of 743,200 MT for 2017/2018 were up noticeably from the previous week and up 11 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Mexico (194,200 MT, including decreases of 100 MT), China (164,400 MT, including 63,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 66,900 MT), the Netherlands (154,900 MT, including 134,500 MT switched from unknown destinations), Indonesia (83,100 MT, including 25,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 1,800 MT), and Germany (76,400 MT).  Reductions were reported for unknown destinations (205,700 MT).  For 2018/2019, net sales of 8,400 MT were reported for Japan.  Exports of 1,537,100 MT were up 34 percent from the previous week and 22 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (808,700 MT), the Netherlands (154,900 MT), Japan (94,200 MT), Germany (76,400 MT), and Thailand (73,700 MT). 
 
 Optional Origin Sales: For 2017/2018, the current optional origin outstanding balance is 63,000 MT, all China.
 
 Export for Own Account:  The current outstanding balance of 12,200 MT is for Canada.
 
Export Adjustment: Accumulated exports to the Netherlands were adjusted down 76,352 MT for week ending January 25th.  The correct destination is Germany and is included in this week’s report.
 
Soybean Cake and Meal:   Net sales of 160,800 MT for 2017/2018 were down 66 percent from the previous week and 46 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Vietnam (67,300 MT, including 59,500 MT switched from unknown destinations), Colombia (61,400 MT), Venezuela (25,000 MT), Morocco (21,500 MT), and Mexico (11,000 MT, including decreases of 100 MT).  Reductions were reported for unknown destinations (64,300 MT).  Exports of 290,900 MT were up 12 percent from the previous week and 48 percent from the prior4-week average.  The primary destinations were Vietnam (70,700 MT), the Philippines (52,500 MT), Mexico (38,600 MT), the Dominican Republic (22,200 MT), and Colombia (21,000 MT).
 
Soybean Oil:  Next sales of 7,800 MT were down 87 percent from the previous week and 68 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Mexico (3,900 MT), Nicaragua (1,500), Honduras (1,300 MT), and Colombia (800 MT).  Exports of 8,500 MT were up 37 percent from the previous week, but down 52 percent from the prior 4-week average.   The primary destinations were Mexico (4,200 MT), Nicaragua (4,000 MT), and Canada (300 MT). 
 
Cotton:  Net sales of 402,400 running bales for 2017/2018 were up 33 percent from the previous week and 75 percent from the prior 4-week average.   Increases were reported for China (98,500 RB, including decreases of 1,700 RB), Pakistan (70,600 RB), Turkey (61,400 RB, including decreases of 15,600 RB), Indonesia (38,800 RB, including 1,400 RB switched from China, 900 RB switched from Japan, and decreases of 3,000 RB), and Vietnam (26,400 RB, including 5,000 RB switched from China, 900 RB switched from Taiwan, and decreases of 300 RB).  Reductions of 200 RB were reported for El Salvador.  For 2018/2019, net sales of 118,500 RB were primarily for China (72,500 RB).  Exports of 432,500 RB--a marketing-year high--were up 42 percent from the previous week and 56 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (85,900 RB), Vietnam (73,000 RB), Pakistan (68,600 RB), Indonesia (47,100 RB), and Turkey (46,400 RB).  Net sales of Pima totaling 7,700 RB for 2017/2018 were down 19 percent from the previous week and 5 percent from the prior 4-week average.   Increases were reported for India (5,000 RB), China (2,100 RB), Austria (300 RB, switched from Switzerland), Bangladesh (200 RB), and Indonesia (200 RB, switched from Japan).  Exports of 20,800 RB were up 63 percent from the previous week and from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (9,100 RB), India (6,200 RB), Vietnam (2,200 RB), Japan (700 RB), and Peru (600 RB).
 
Optional Origin Sales:  For 2017/2018, the current optional origin outstanding balance is 16,500 RB, all Indonesia. 
 
Exports for Own Account:  New exports for own account totaling 10,200 RB were reported to South Korea (4,300 RB), Pakistan (2,500 RB), Vietnam (2,400 RB), and China (1,000 RB).  Exports to Indonesia (31,900RB), Taiwan (11,00 RB), India (1,200 RB), China (900 RB), Vietnam (900 RB), and Pakistan (100 RB) were applied to new or outstanding sales.  The current outstanding balance of 30,100 RB is for Indonesia (12,500 RB), China (6,700 RB), Vietnam (6,100 RB), South Korea (4,300 RB), and Bangladesh (500 RB).  
 
Hides and Skins: Net sales of 197,600 pieces were reported for 2018.  Whole cattle hide sales totaling 189,300 pieces were primarily for China (92,400 pieces, including decreases of 41,500 pieces), Mexico (36,100 pieces, including decreases of 1,300 pieces), South Korea (27,000 pieces, including decreases of 5,400 pieces), Taiwan (15,800 pieces, including decreases of 3,900 pieces), and Slovenia (6,600 pieces).  Reductions were reported for Indonesia (1,000 pieces).  Exports of 404,100 pieces were reported for 2018.  Whole cattle hide exports of 395,100 pieces were primarily to China (260,000 pieces), South Korea (57,500 pieces), Mexico (28,200 pieces), Taiwan (25,000 pieces), and Thailand (14,700 pieces). 
 
Net sales of 118,100 wet blues were reported for 2018.  Increases were reported for Italy (41,500 unsplit and 4,200 grain splits), Mexico (23,900 grain splits and 3,400 unsplit), and China (10,700 unsplit and 7,600 grain splits).  Reductions were reported for South Korea (200 unsplit).  Exports of 133,700 wet blues were reported for 2018.  Exports were primary to China (42,300 unsplit), Mexico (12,400 unsplit and 9,600 grain splits), Vietnam (9,700 unsplit and 6,300 grain splits), Taiwan (15,500 unsplit), and Italy (11,000 unsplit and 3,200 grain splits). Net sales of splits totaling 797,800 pounds for 2018 were reported for Vietnam (796,800 pounds) and South Korea (1,000 pounds).  Exports of 690,700 pounds were to Vietnam (664,700 pounds) and South Korea (26,000 pounds).
 
Beef: Net sales of 18,500 MT were reported for 2018.  Increases were reported for Japan (7,600 MT, including decreases of 1,500 MT), Taiwan (3,400 MT, including decreases of 100 MT), South Korea (2,300 MT, including decreases of 600 MT), Canada (1,900 MT, including decreases of 200 MT), and Mexico (1,000 MT, including decreases of 100 MT).  Exports of 16,000 MT were reported for 2018.  The primary destinations were Japan (5,000 MT), South Korea (4,000 MT), Hong Kong (2,500 MT), Mexico (1,800 MT), and Taiwan (900 MT). 
 
Pork: Net sales of 12,700 MT were reported for 2018.  Increases were reported for Mexico (2,400 MT), Japan (2,100 MT), Canada (2,000 MT), Hong Kong (2,000 MT), and South Korea (1,700 MT).  Exports of 24,100 MT were reported for 2018.  The primary destinations were Mexico (8,200 MT), South Korea (5,100 MT), Japan (4,100 MT), Canada (1,400 MT), and China (1,100 MT).
